Alexey Sokolov is one of the most talented and diversified accordionists in Russia. He began studying accordion and piano from a very young age. Success in childhood led the young man to the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music, where he continued his studies.

 

After graduating from the academy, Alexey decided to expand his musical horizons and went to the Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA). Here he got acquainted with the peculiarities of performing French and Argentine music and deepened his knowledge in the field of jazz.

After returning to Russia, he continued his musical career, performing at festivals all over the country. He quickly gained recognition for his unique accordion playing style, which combines elements of jazz, Argentine and French music.

He has toured with solo concerts in Austria, Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Canada and the USA. As part of the Pervoe Solnce group, he participated in major international jazz festivals, including Jazz-a-Juan in France and the Callander Jazz Festival in Scotland. At the Jazz-a-Juan Festival, he performed on the same stage with such jazz stars as Marcus Miller and Chick Corea, and at the Callander Jazz Festival with jazz legend Avishai Cohen.

In 2021, Alexey created the instrumental trio “A Paris” with classical guitarist Sergei Uryupin and jazz double bassist Denis Shushkov. Together they perform concerts all over the world, inspiring fans with their sincere performance and unique playing style. The trio is planning to release an album of their original music in the near future.
